What to consider in case you need dental prosthesis.

In case you require dental prosthesis the dentist will draw up a treatment and cost plan. This plan has to be submitted to the statutory health insurance prior to the dental prosthesis being fitted. It determines the share that is covered by the health insurance. This in turn depends on the prior participation of the patient in dental check-ups. The rest of the amount has to be paid by the insured person.

The dentist will bill you directly for the amount not covered by the statutory health insurance. Please ask your dentist for further information. It may also happen that you have to pay a little extra for fillings or check-ups because the statutory health insurance companies can normally only assume a specific share of costs for these measures.
