What you should consider when purchasing health benefits abroad.
In principle, the TK also reimburses the costs if you purchase benefits in a foreign country, e.g. on a travel abroad. However, this is limited to certain EU-member states. Please also keep in mind that these benefits have to meet certain requirements to be covered by the TK, e.g. that the TK would also have paid for the benefits if they were conducted in Germany.
For the coverage of specific treatments in a foreign hospital you need a separate allowance of the TK.
In all cases you have to present detailed invoices with names of doctors, treatments and costs listed.
In case of dental prosthesis the amount of coverage is limited to the partial payment for standard care.
