You should call a doctor or the Gesundheitsamt (public health service) if you experience a respiratory illness (e.g. coughing, sneezing, sore throat, etc.). In case of emergency please call 112.
More details
The doctor decides about the necessity of getting a test. You should self-isolate until you get the result.
What does that mean? You should
- stay at home,
- try to avoid contact with other people who are not at least 2 metres away from you,
- wash your hands frequently and thoroughly,
- preferably wear a face mask when meeting with other people.
The Bundeszentrale für gesundheitliche Aufklärung (Federal Centre for Health Education) offers detailed information in German about what to observe in case of a suspected coronavirus infection or during self-isolation on its website www.infektionsschutz.de.
