The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) as well as the Bundesministerium für Gesundheit [Federal Ministry of Health] recommend the following to people suspecting a corona infection:
- People who were in contact with a person with a virus infection established by a laboratory should immediately and irrespective of any symptoms contact their local public health department or a doctor or call 116 117 and stay at home. Here you can find the competent public health department.
- People who visited one of the high risk areas identified by the RKI (information in German) or regions where COVID-19 cases have occurred should, irrespective of any symptoms, avoid any unnecessary contact with other people and stay at home if possible.
It is important to observe the cough and sneeze etiquette as well as a good hand hygiene.
