You should call a doctor, the Gesundheitsamt [public health service] or 116 117 in case you experience a respiratory illness (e.g. coughing, sneezing, sore throat, etc.).
The doctor decides about the necessity of getting a test. You should self-isolate until you get the result.
What does that mean? You should
- stay at home,
- try to avoid contact with other people who are not at least 2 metres away from you,
- wash your hands frequently and thoroughly,
- preferably wear a face mask when meeting with other people.
The Bundeszentrale für gesundheitliche Aufklärung [Federal Centre for Health Education] offers detailed information in German about what to observe in case of a suspected coronavirus infection or during self-isolation on its website www.infektionsschutz.de.
