You should call a doctor, the Gesundheitsamt [public health service] or 116 117 if you experience respiratory problems (e.g. coughing, sneezing, sore throat, etc.).
More details
The doctor decides wether testing is necessary. You should self-isolate until you get the result.
That means:
- stay at home
- maintain a distance of at least two metres from other people
- wash your hands frequently and thoroughly
- ideally wear a face mask when meeting with other people
The Bundeszentrale für gesundheitliche Aufklärung [Federal Centre for Health Education] offers detailed information in German about what to observe in case of a suspected coronavirus infection or during self-isolation at www.infektionsschutz.de.
Check your symptoms
It takes just a few clicks of the "CovApp" developed by Berlin's Charité hospital to check whether your symptoms are related to the new coronavirus and what steps you should take. A digital questionnaire will show you the answer. What is more: You will find plenty of tips on how to protect yourself and others from a coronavirus infection.
