How much does TK pay towards dental check-ups? We cover the costs of one dental check-up every half-year for adults. There must be at least four months between appointments. We also pay for the removal of hard dental plaque (tartar) once a year during your check-up. These services are billed directly via your TK eHealth card.
During your half-yearly dental check-up, your dentist will examine your teeth and gums and look for signs of caries and periodontitis. You should see your dentist regularly even if you wear a full set of dentures. Your dentist will check whether your dentures are functioning properly and look for early signs of disease in the oral mucous membranes.Special periodontitis examination every two yearsYour gums will be examined using a special probe to detect the early stages of gum disease. The results will be used to calculate a Periodontal Screening Index (PSI). You can have this examination performed and billed through your eHealth card every two years.Remember your dental bonus booklet!Don't forget to have your dentist stamp your dental bonus booklet. After all, this will ensure you get a higher allowance for dental prostheses if needed. In 2022, a digital dental bonus booklet can also be stored in the TK-Safe electronic patient file.
