Countries where the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is valid You will find the EHIC on the back of your TK eHealth card. You can use this in many European countries when you visit a contracted doctor's surgery or a statutory health insurance (SHI)-accredited hospital. You will have to pay for treatment yourself in countries where the EHIC is not valid and there are no other agreements in place.
