The TK eHealth card lets you use medical services throughout Germany. The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is on the back of your TK eHealth card. The EHIC ensures access to healthcare in all 27 EU states as well as many other European countries and even in certain non-European territories.

The EHIC grants access to medically necessary, state-provided healthcare during a temporary stay in any of the 27 EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. However, it is not an alternative to travel insurance. That's why, we recommend taking out travel insurance to enjoy even more benefits.
