Thomas Ballast is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.

At TK, he is responsible for the Customer Service, Organisation and Infrastructure, Care Management and Health Care Innovation divisions.

He has been a member of the Managing Board since 1 July 2012.

Mr Ballast (born in 1962), who has a degree in Economics, was previously Chairman of the Executive Board of the Verband der Ersatzkassen (vdek) [the Association of Substitute Health Funds]. Prior to that, he held various positions of responsibility in the German statutory health insurance system.
