The insurance number certificate replaces the social insurance certificate which previously had to be presented whenever you changed employers. If you have a social insurance certificate you can continue to use this.
You will be sent a letter with your German pension insurance number from the pension insurance institute. It can take between two and three months before you receive this letter. That’s why we will automatically send you a written confirmation which you can use in the meantime.
