You want an overview of your medical diagnoses, hospital reports, medications, check-ups, vaccinations and the doctors you have consulted? TK-Safe, the TK's version of the ePA on your smartphone, you can now access your personal health records and medical documents anytime and anywhere.

Convenient, simple and secure: the electronic medical record is a central and well-protected storage location for your data. TK insurees can use this service via the TK-App.

Please note that TK-Safe is currently only available in German.

With TK-Safe you can make the information in your medical record available to other medical practitioners and hospitals. This transfer of information is important for determining further treatment options.
TK-Safe ensures transparency on treatment courses, previous illnesses and medication intolerances. This medical record can also help to avoid stressful repeat examinations.
TK-Safe gives you full control over your vaccination and check-up appointments. You will receive a reminder in good time of when your next booster vaccination is due and of upcoming check-ups.

How to get TK-Safe

Install the TK-App on your smartphone
Open the TK-App and tap on "TK-Safe Medical Record" in the main menu
Choose your login method:
a) Access via TK-Ident
b) Direct access with your eHealth card and PIN

How TK-Safe works

TK-Safe is connected to the telematics infrastructure. This is a nationwide network for secure data transfer which can only be accessed by licensed doctors and hospitals.

TK-Safe users decide themselves which doctors and hospitals can access their electronic medical record. This is done by giving medical practitioners access rights. These rights can also be time restricted. Once authorised, the practitioner can view the patient's medical record at any time via the practice's administration system. If you have given your consent, the practitioner can also transfer documents into your record.

The use of TK-Safe is voluntary and free of charge for TK insurees. You can terminate the service at any time and have all your data deleted.

Safety first when it comes to your data

At TK the security and protection of your data are a top priority. Your data are encrypted as a matter of course and only you can access them with your personal key. You alone decide which information you want to save and forward. What's more, TK cannot view your data in the TK-Safe!

Your data security is our top priority

TK-Safe can only be accessed via the TK-App. This is coupled with 2-factor authentication. The first factor is registration of your mobile device with a personal authorisation code. The second factor is login in the app with your username and password.

Encryption

Your health and illness data deserve the maximum possible protection. That's why, we have implemented the highest level of technical protection. Your data is stored with content encryption (end-to-end) on servers in Germany and thus subject to German data protection law.

In other words: Only you can read the data as you are the sole owner of the key. Neither TK nor IBM Deutschland GmbH can read your data.

However, the maximum security level also means that if you lose the key, your data are irretrievably lost. For this reason, you should keep it in a safe place. Please note your smartphone is not a safe place, if this is lost or stolen you will lose all your TK-specific data (TK extra services) such as check-up and vaccination recommendations.

Tip: Print out the QR code and put it in a safe place. This will allow you to simply scan and record the safety key when you change your device.

Access to data

Your data is only decrypted on your smartphone. To guarantee that only you can access your data, you must register each new smartphone again. Click here for more information on data security in German.

Use of the electronic medical record is voluntary. You alone decide if you want to use this service. If you opt for TK-Safe you specify:

which information is recorded and saved both manually and automatically
which information is deleted
who can access which information and for how long
with whom you share which information

You are the owner of the information and have sole control over it at all times.
