TK-Doc - Just what the doctor ordered!

TK members can download the app for free. What's more, TK-Doc is available in both German and English.

Note: The app is activated with your TK insurance number, date of birth and a password of your choice.

The app offers the following services

Medical advice from the TK-MediCall team

Installing the TK-Doc app on your smartphone allows you to contact the doctors on the TK-MediCall Team . This means you can get medical advice and health tips around the clock without having to leave your bed.

The team can be reached either via live chat or by phone. The live chat and telephone service are available 24/7.

The app also lets you upload photos and documents. For example x-ray images and photos of medicines which you take on a regular basis. This gives doctors a better overview of your situation.

The app meets all the relevant data security requirements. Data is encrypted before being sent to TK-MediCall and saved on the servers there. Only you and the doctors who are bound by doctor-patient confidentiality can access the data.

Remote treatment

In addition to general medical advice, the TK-Doc app offers fully digitalised remote treatment in the form of video consultations. Here, you and your co-insured children can receive treatment via video consultation.

As well as diagnoses and recommendations for treatment, statements of fitness for work, prescriptions and doctor's letters can all be issued during these remote consultations.

TK-AppointmentService

Getting an appointment to see a doctor is not always easy. That's why we support TK members with the TK-AppointmentService. Simply open the TK-AppointmentService in the TK-Doc app and tell us what you need.

The TK-AppointmentService team will try to arrange an appointment for you at a suitable practice as quickly as possible.

116 117: book appointments online

Would you like to book an appointment online with a doctor, therapist or psychotherapist? You can use the new service in the app and dial 116117 - appointment booking. To use this service, you need an e-mail address and, for some specialities, a referral with a referral code.

Please note that this feature is only available in the German-language version of the app.

The Symptom Checker: check and understand your symptoms

The Symptom Checker in the TK-Doc app helps you to correctly assess and understand your symptoms.

As an approved medical device, the Symptom Checker only uses information from reliable sources. It brings you one step closer to finding the possible cause of your symptoms.

All you have to do is answer questions on your previous illnesses and symptoms until enough information is available to provide a sound result.

You will then receive a recommended course of action and an overview of possible illnesses that match your symptoms. For common illnesses such as colds, migraines or allergies, you will be given helpful tips or selected offers that can alleviate your symptoms and speed up your recovery.

Expert advice on dentures

Do you need dentures and still have questions? Then you can discuss your treatment and cost plan with an experienced dentist. Simply upload your treatment and cost plan in the section "Expert advice on dentures" and select an appointment for a callback.

Your ICD code explained

What does, for example, the abbreviation J06.9 on your sick note mean? You can find out quickly and easily in the TK-Doc app. In addition to medical terms, common names are also displayed. The code J06.9 stands for the diagnosis Acute upper respirstory infection, or, in other words, a cold. Conversely, you can also display the corresponding code for a diagnosis. Please note that this feature is currently only available in German.

LabTester: check your laboratory values yourself

Did you have blood taken or was your urine analysed? Do you have questions about the results? The app's LabTester allows you to check whether your values are OK.

Depending on your age and gender you can determine, for example, which diseases are associated with unusual values, which other laboratory values are important in this context and what you can do to normalise these values again.

The laboratory checker database was developed by medical specialists from TK-MediCall and contains information on 120 different values including cholesterol, folic acid and testosterone. Should you be missing any values, please let us know via the app. We can then review these and include them in the database.

Not a replacement for an appointment with a doctor

The TK-Doc app is ideal for handling common complaints such as flu-like infections and back pain, as well as for information on medicines and side effects.

However, it goes without saying that the digital information provided via TK-Doc cannot replace a visit to the doctor.
