Should you ever need a dental prosthesis, we will cover more of the costs if you have had regular check-ups. Evidence of these is provided in the bonus booklet, which records the date of each check-up.

More details

Bring the booklet to your dental check-up every year and have your dentist use it to confirm your visit. Once your booklet is full, your dentist will give you another. Make sure you keep the old one safe so that you can send it to us if necessary.

"Regular" means:

  • One dental check-up per calendar half-year for children aged twelve and over. The bonus booklet remains valid after your child has reached their 18th birthday.
  • At least one dental check-up per calendar year for adults. This applies even if you wear a full set of dentures.

There must be at least four months between check-ups. The check-up will be confirmed by your dental practice, which will also give you a dental bonus booklet.

New: the electronic dental bonus booklet

Since 2022 a digital dental bonus booklet can be stored in the TK-Safe electronic patient file. Your dentist can record all the dental check-ups you have had to date in just one entry provided there are no gaps, i.e. as long as you have had at least one dental check-up every year. This also applies to check-ups that have not yet been recorded in the paper booklet. The use of an electronic dental bonus booklet is optional.

Important:
You will need your dental bonus booklet if any of your teeth have to be replaced in the future. It should not be confused with the TK Bonus Plan.

How you benefit: higher cost contributions for dental prostheses

Did you go for regular dental check-ups during the five years before the treatment began? If so, the fixed cost contribution increases to 70 per cent of the average cost of the standard treatment. If you have had regular check-ups for the previous ten years, it rises to 75 per cent. But please have in mind that the current year of treatment does not count.
