By the way, you only need the international health insurance card for trips to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Tunisia and Turkey.
Alternatively, you can call +49 40 - 46 06 62 53 00 and ask for an international health insurance card. If you are calling from outside Germany, please use the number +49 40 460 66 25 00.
An international health insurance card bearing your name, the expiry date and a TK stamp will then be sent to you by post.
If you need medical treatment while you are abroad, you can have the country's social insurance institution exchange the international health insurance card for a treatment voucher.
We advise you to take out travel medical insurance to ensure that you have comprehensive cover. You must still be in Germany at the time you take out your travel health insurance.
